Project Scope: • Design-build replacement wall utilizing existing caissons and I-beams, • Created new precast concrete panels with a brick texture stained to look like the existing brick wall • Construction management and quality control • Site-specific safety plan co-developed with Parsons • Utility investigation and site survey • Testing of existing caissons/I-beams to assure integrity; clean and epoxy coat I-beams • Demolition and haul-off of existing structure • Landscape removal and replacement • Precast concrete panel construction, installation and custom staining
Challenges: • Traffic control on busy arterial road • Safety of construction and pedestrian traffic • Staggered demolition and installation to minimize impact on the neighborhood • Difficult precast concrete panel installation due to overhead power, fiber and cable lines.
